Sierra Tucson Alumni

As we all know, recovery is not an event but a journey. Thankfully, this journey is made far less arduous by the direction of experienced guides and the fellowship of others who are walking the same path.

Sierra Tucson facilitates this support and encouragement via our network of alumni. Through local support groups, meetings, speakers, workshops, Alumni eNews, and the “Afterwords” Newsletter, alumni are encouraged to draw on rich resources to navigate the path of recovery.

Here are three alumni-related pages that can support your recovery and help you keep in touch with the rest of the Sierra Tucson Family:

Alumni Events

Sierra Tucson regularly hosts workshops, seminars, celebrations, and other gatherings to which alumni are invited. The alumni event calendar is a great way to keep up-to-date on opportunities to learn and grow in recovery, and to keep in touch with Sierra Tucson and the other members of our alumni family.

This page is updated as events warrant — so be sure to bookmark our alumni events page and check back often to be sure you’re “in the know” about alumni-related activities!

Alumni Resources

It’s no secret that the Internet can be an amazing source of information. For those in recovery, the Internet can also be a life-affirming connection when members of your support network are not available, or when you are in an unfamiliar location. For that purpose, we have compiled a list of prominent websites that may be of value and/or interest to individuals in recovery. Click here to access this list.

(Please note that none of the sites linked to from our Alumni Resources page are managed by or in any other way affiliated with Sierra Tucson, so we cannot verify or be held responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. The full text of our hold-harmless statement can be accessed at the bottom of our Privacy Policy.)

Alumni Support Groups

Recovery is a gift that grows and expands when shared with others. Many alumni have expressed interest in beginning local Alumni Support Groups, and Sierra Tucson is committed to helping you do this.

The only membership requirement is that you must have attended Sierra Tucson. This includes spouses or family members who have attended the Family Program or an individual who has attended a Quality of Life Workshop (sorry, no children allowed).

These alumni-led Support Groups are a great way for alumni to give and receive support. They are not counseling sessions or 12-Step groups, but a time to share in a safe, open, and honest environment on a regular basis. Click here to learn more.

Alumni Continuing Care Groups

Sierra Tucson works to provide the most compassionate and clinically effective care possible, and we are committed to helping our alumni to continue their successful journey of recovery throughout life.

In addition to supporting local Alumni Support Groups around the country, which are led by alumni, Alumni Continuing Care Groups, which are led by therapists, are offered in select areas. Separate groups are held for Patient Alumni and for Family Member Alumni (18 years and over), and these groups are facilitated by clinical professionals and provided at no cost to alumni.
